2008 Palm Bay Spring Challenge Champions

The Brevard Cyclones Girls U12 team took 1st place in the 11th Annual Palm Bay Spring Challenge on Sunday May 4th.  The team started out strong with their first game on Saturday by defeating the Lady Makos by a score of 5-2.  A strong Jupiter Sting team were the next to fall to the Cyclones 3-2 in the second game of the day.  Sunday morning found the team battling to a hard fought 2-2 tie with TCU U12 Girls which resulted in the two teams playing later in the day for the championship.  The final was an entertaining and fiercely competitive match where the Cyclones eventually prevailed 1-0.

2008 Palm Bay Spring Challenge Runner-up

The Brevard Cyclones U13 Girls also continued their winning ways this Spring season by playing two difficult games in the group stage of the Palm Bay Challenge.  With well-deserving ties against East Lake Arsenal (4-4) and FSA Krush Academy (0-0) the team finished off group play with a convincing 5-1 win on Sunday morning over Citrus United.  The Cyclones girls found themselves facing FSA Krush in a rematch for the championship where they eventually fell 3-0 in a game much closer than the score indicates.

Congratulations to both the U12 and U13 Cyclones Girls teams for outstanding tournaments! 

Brevard United U10 & U15

2008 Countryside Easter Champions

The Brevard United Boys U10 team won the 2008 Countryside Easter Tournament on Sunday March 23rd. This team played out of the very difficult group 1 of the Maroon bracket. On Saturday they defeated the Plantation Eagles 3-0 in their first game and the Oldsmar Outlaws in their second game. The Oldsmar game was very spirited, with a final score of 7-6.

After clinching a finals birth on Saturday the team tied the South Lake team 4-4 on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon they defeated the Countryside Nike Boys team 6-2 in the final.

The Brevard United Boys U15 also took top honors at the 2008 Countryside Easter Tournament by going undefeated and without conceding a single goal in group play.  West Pasco was the first to fall to United as they opened up play on Friday evening with a 6-0 triumph.  Group play continued on Saturday with very close 1-0 match against Brandon U15.  Later in the evening the team faced a stiff challenge from AFC Kempston Colts from the U.K. with United prevailing 2-0.

After clinching the difficult Flight A group the championship game had the team taking on RSL Florida in what proved to be a hard fought and spirited match.  The teams were tied after normal time and so the outcome had to be decided by penalty kicks.  The team was up to the challenge as they defeated RSL by a final score of 6-5.

Brevard United U12

2008 Florida Region B Cup Champions

The Brevard United U12 Boys soccer team won the Region B Championship on Sunday March 16th. The successful weekend started with a 3-1 victory over the Orange County Strikers in the regional semi final on Saturday.

Sunday morning the team defeated Inter United in a very difficult finals match. Inter United scored first midway through the first half. Brevard United got back into the match and then later took control with 2 second half goals. This is the second year in a row that this team has won the Region B Championship.

2008 Florida Region B Cup Runner-up

The CBS Cyclones U13 Girls soccer team took second place in the Region B Championship on Sunday March 16th. The weekend started with a victory over the Space Coast Storm in the regional semi final on Saturday, after a tie in regulation and overtime, winning in PK’s.

Sunday evening the Cyclones fell to East Orange Lightning in a very difficult finals match. This is the second year in a row that this the Cyclones have taken 2nd place in the Region B Championship.
